Research
Jianjun He's research interests include early Chinese literature and intellectual history, as well as Tang poetry and Late Imperial vernacular fiction.
Bio
Jianjun He, originally from Xi’an, China, has over 17 years of experience teaching Chinese language at the college level in both China and in the United States. He received his Ph.D in East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Oregon in 2007. His specialization is pre-modern Chinese literature and cultural history, focusing especially on early and late-imperial periods. His current research draws on the fields of literary study, philosophy, traditional Chinese medicine, intellectual history, and paleography. His dissertation, “The Body in the Politics and Society of Early China,” examines the political, social and symbolic conceptualizations of the body in early China.
