Interior Design Student Wins Design Contest

Jade Boyle, a senior interior design student from Glasgow, KY, won second place ($2500 cash prize) for her store fixture design. She competed against students from US, India, UK and France. The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE), now in its fourth year, offers students a chance to see their designs come to life, gain exposure at a major industry trade show, and win cash awards. PAVE received 209 entries from 12 countries last fall. The winners were announced at the Global Shop trade show in Chicago. Dr. Scott Lyons, director of the School of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport (KRS) at Western Kentucky University partnered with three colleagues, Dr. John Jackson of the University of Alabama, Dr. Willie Hey of the University of Louisiana-Monroe, and Mr.
Western Kentucky University’s (WKU) Department of Public Health is now offering a Joint Undergraduate Master’s Program, JUMP-MHA.
The Institute for Rural Health (IRH) in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) received a $50,000 grant from the Good Samaritan Foundation Inc., a ministry of the Kentucky Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
