Facilities


The Department is located in the Thompson Complex Central and in Snell Hall; additional facilities will be available after completion of the new Ogden College Hall in late 2017. State-of-the-art instrumentation throughout Ogden College is one of the hallmarks of our research programs, both for undergraduate and graduate students. Students benefits from direct interaction with faculty and can be personally trained in the operation of a wide range of instrumentation including:

  • NMR spectrometer (JEOL, 500 MHz)
  • ATIR spectrometer (Spectrum One)
  • Fluorescence spectrometer
  • UV-visible spectrometer
  • Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
  • GC/MS
  • Micro and macro-elemental facilities
  • Thermogravimetric analysis facilities (TGA)
  • Differential scanning colorimetric analysis facilities
  • X-ray powder diffraction facilities
  • TEM (JEOL, 100CX,equipped with an IXRF energy dispersive X-ray analysis system)
  • SEM (JEOL 5400LV)
  • AKTA-Plus-FPLC
