Western Kentucky University's Winter Term is an optional three–week session in January in which students can take up to 4 credit hours.

For students, Winter Term is a great way to get more out of their winter break. With over 280 classes available, WKU Winter Term has something for everyone! WKU Winter Term offers general education classes as well as electives for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Winter Term classes are convenient in many ways. Classes are available face-to-face at the Bowling Green campuses and at the WKU Regional Campuses located in Elizabethtown/Radcliff/Fort Knox,Owensboro, and Glasgow. There are also study abroad opportunities during Winter Term. Many classes during Winter Term are available online to allow you to complete a course wherever you are!

Other advantages of Winter Term include:

  • Get ahead and progress toward degree completion
  • Catch up on a course dropped or missed
  • Reduce your load during Fall/Spring semesters
  • Repeat a course
  • Complete a pre-requisite for a Fall/Spring course
