Biography

Alan White (they/them) is a multidisciplinary theatre creator who has been performing on stage, on screen and almost everywhere else for over twenty years. Alan has performed in applied theatre to address issues of social justice, education, and equity, with various companies including, Theatre Espresso, The New England Museum of Science, and The Bok Center Players.

Alan’s other performance experience includes everything from Shakespeare performances with The New England Shakespeare Festival, and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, to devising new works with Central Square theatre and creating solo performances. Alan’s film and TV performances include films, commercials, and storytelling appearances.

As a teaching artist Alan has worked with diverse students of various identities and ages. Their experience as a working artist influences their reaching philosophy. Their goal is providing an education that empowers student artists to lead their artistic career.

Alan earned a B.A. in theatre at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While pursing acting, they sought additional training with Double Edge Theatre, Puppet Showplace Theatre, Ko Fest, Sandglass Theatre, and Another Country Productions before earning an M.F.A. in acting from Louisiana State University.
