FAFSA's, Background Checks & Student Employment: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
To be considered for student employment, a student must have filed a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the results of this form must be on file at WKU's Department of Student Financial Assistance. A new FAFSA must be filed for each academic year.
If hired by a department, the student will then be required to complete the necessary tax forms (K-4, W-4, WSOT), I-9 Form, and provide proper documentation to establish identity (i.e. driver's license, social security card). Students must have a completed background check (if have not been employed within the last 24 months by WKU). Students are not to work for the university until the completed background check is on file with the university.
