Mr. John W. Ridley
John W. Ridley is the Managing Director/Investment Officer at The Ridley and Hull Financial Consulting Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. John’s mission is to provide every client with targeted, comprehensive financial advice and portfolio management — delivered with the highest level of personal service and professional integrity. John and his investment partner, Derek Hull, manage approximately $250 million in client assets, serving a variety of individuals, foundations, and corporate retirement accounts.
In 1995, before joining Wells Fargo Advisors, John was Branch Manager for a regional securities firm for seven years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Western Kentucky University and worked for several years as a business owner before making a career change to financial services more than 25 years ago. John maintains a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor license, as well as the Series 7, Series 8, and Series 63 securities licenses, along with numerous state and insurance registrations.
John’s professional accomplishments include: National Outstanding Broker Award by Registered Representative Magazine, 1999; James C. Wheat, Jr. Community Service Award, 1996; Chairman’s Circle of Excellence 2000-2003; and Wells Fargo Advisors President’s Council from 2004-present. He has been recognized as a Premier Advisor, a distinction reserved for the firm’s top producers who have also demonstrated exceptional client service, for sixteen consecutive years.
John believes strongly in giving back to the community and does so by serving in a number of different capacities. He is currently a member of the WKU Campaign Cabinet, WKU President’s Advisory Council, WKU National Leadership Committee, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Alumni, and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a director the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation. In 2012 John was appointed by Governor Steve Beshear as a member of the Board of Regents for Western Kentucky University to a six year term. John was the past director of Bowling Green Country Club, a former board member of the WKU Libraries Advisory Council, and Board of Advisors for the Shaker Museum, South Union, KY. He is a certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church and is previous Chairman of State Street United Methodist Church Board of Trustees and former member of the United Methodist Church Conference Council of Finance and Administration and the Investment Committee of the Kentucky Council of Churches. John was also a member of the WKU Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1977-1981, was the 2001 recipient of the WKU Student Government Association “Citizen’s Award,” the 2003 recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award from the WKU President’s Circle Advisory Council and the 20121 Recipient of the Summit Award for the WKU President Board of Advisors. John is also a 2009 graduate of Leadership Kentucky.
John and his wife, Carolyn live in Bowling Green with their dog Bogey. Carolyn is Vice President for TW Telecom.
