Faculty & Students Team Up in Big Red\'s Trivia Bowl

WKU HonorsToppers hosted their second annual Big Red’s Trivia Bowl. The theme this year was “ Ghana Think, Ghana Win”. The competition was held at Mass Media and Technology Hall on March 20, 2010. This event helped raise $1,500 dollars for a village school in Sanka, Ghana. The proceeds will provide capital improvements to the primary school and much needed school supplies.

WKU Department of Political Science sponsored two teams for the Trivia Bowl. One team, Gang of Four, captained by Tim Gilliam, advanced through two rounds to the semi-finals. Team members included Tim, Jeremy Thompson, Amber Duncan, Sarah Spiker, and the tag team of Drs. Sol Kiasatpour and Cole Taratoot.

The second Political Science team, led by Dr. Roger Murphy, advanced to the final round after knocking off the team from the History Department. It was a hard fought championship round with the PS team losing by just three points to the Rhymes with Orange. In addition to Dr. Murphy, team consisted of Kameron McNeal, Cindy Worchester and Danielle Straub.
