International students, scholars visit Mammoth Cave National Park
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) took a group of WKU international students and scholars spelunking at Mammoth Cave National Park on Saturday (Oct. 20).
“It is well worth visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. The cave, especially the Fat Man’s Misery, was very interesting and the tour guide was very qualified and humorous,” said Wu Yanju, visiting scholar from China. “Besides the tour to the cave, we also enjoyed the scenery there, such as the colorful and beautiful maple trees on the road and around the cave. I am sure I will recommend this trip to my friends at WKU.”
The trip to Mammoth Cave is one of many excursions led by ISSS this semester. “We are fortunate to have sites such as Mammoth Cave close to campus and to be able to provide opportunities like this for our students,” said Andrea Ford, International Student and Scholar Advisor. “It is the intent of ISSS to broaden our students’ experiences at WKU in order to complement their academic studies. We believe these activities are vital to cultural immersion and their overall experience in the United States.”
