Phone:  (270) 745-3119

Heather Garcia was named WKU’s Marketing Manager for Regional Campuses in August 2013. In this newly created position Garcia manages marketing projects for three regional campuses located in Elizabethtown/Fort Knox, Glasgow and Owensboro. Garcia conducts market research, creates integrated marketing and communications plans, works closely with campuses on digital strategies, assists with special events and serves as a liaison between the regional campuses and divisions/departments across WKU’s campus.

Garcia came to WKU in 2003 as the Agency Director for Imagewest, a student-run advertising and public relations agency. Garcia was the first full-time hire to build and launch the full service, revenue-generating agency. Within the first year, Imagewest exceeded revenue projections and became an award-winning agency. Imagewest has worked abroad with clients for six consecutive years and serves as a model for other universities.

Garcia previously held positions as the Business Manager for Place Properties in Bowling Green, Ky. and Vice President of Client Relations for The Maverick Group, a marketing agency, in Nashville, Tenn. These two experiences fueled Garcia’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for marketing which lead her to launch two separate businesses within the real estate and antique industry.

Garcia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising with a minor in Marketing from WKU in 1998. She is involved with the American Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America, American Marketing Association, Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and Bowling Green Professional Marketing Association.

In her spare time, Garcia partakes in outdoor adventures and hunts for unique treasures at flea markets, estate sales and auctions.
