Pine Needle Basket Workshop

Try your hand at stitching a pine needle basket. Learn this timeless technique of coiled basketry using natural materials. Shown here is a simple pine needle basket using a walnut slice for its center. Basket is approximately  6 inches in diameter and students should be able to complete a similar piece during this class.

Moderate hand strength is needed as well as good eyesight. All supplies are provided but students will need a good pair of embroidery or cuticle scissors.

Joyce majored in art and design in college. She teaches both basketry and quilting as well as exhibits and sells her work. She resides in Western North Carolina where mountain crafts and lore offer even more inspiration to create.

Weaving level is for beginner to intermediate weavers.
