Setting up your WKU Accounts
We know that setting up accounts at WKU is confusing. That’s why we’ve provided the following information to help you through the process. To take advantage of online services like Webmail, TopNet, and Portal, you’ll need to know all of the account information below*:
Your WKU ID and PIN:
Your WKU ID (800#) is your main identification number at WKU and is printed and encoded on your WKU ID card. All students are issued a WKU ID upon application to the University. To look up your WKU ID, click here. For help locating your WKU ID, watch the video below:
Your NetID:
You can look up your NetID here. All students are issued a NetID and WKU Email Account within 24-48 hours after registration. This ID will provide you access to TopNet, Webmail, and the Portal. For more help finding your NetID, view the video below:
Your WKU Portal:
You can log in to the portal here.
To log in use your NetID and password. The Portal will provide you access to your webmail, Topnet, Blackboard and other WKU services. For a step-by-step guide to accessing the Portal, watch the video below:

Your Webmail account:
You can access your WKU email through the WKU Portal or at webmail.wku.edu. You can find your WKU Email account address here. As a student, you will receive official communications via your WKU email account, including administrative announcements, registration information, financial aid, and class information from your professors. It is very important that you maintain and check your WKU email account regularly!
