Apply to visit Reutlingen University in Germany
The Department of Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences is currently encouraging AMS students to apply to visit Reutlingen University in Reutlingen, Germany this Fall, November 22 through December 3, 2011. Students will be selected to participate in a group project, alongside German students, to develop a capstone manufacturing system scenario. This group will require intensive study and commitment to excellence during the activities at Reutlingen. However, there will also be time for some local sightseeing. This is a tremendous chance to enhance your awareness of other places, people, and cultures. Visiting Reutlingen University will challenge your knowledge of our discipline, further develop your skills and abilities in creativity and problem solving, improve your ability to work with people of different backgrounds, and will plant memories that will last a lifetime.
Although this invitation is open to all AMS students, the program and activities at Reutlingen University are geared more toward Manufacturing and Technology Management. As such, prerequisites include, AMS 271 (Industrial Statistics) or 371 (Quality Assurance), AMS 328 (Robotic and Machine Vision) or 343 (Automated Systems), AMS 356 (Systems design and Operations), and AMS 390 (Project Management).
For more information about cost, deadlines, passport requirements, and application procedures, please contact Dr. Greg Arbuckle or Dr. Daniel Jackson. Time is critical if you wish to apply. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
