The Construction Management program aspires to provide exemplary education in construction management, and to be recognized for quality instruction, research endeavors, and service to the community.
The mission of the Construction Management program is to educate and develop management and supervisory personnel for the construction industry. The program is particularly dedicated to providing students with continuously improved technical and managerial educational opportunities and instruction with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving skills, while instilling a commitment to lifelong learning and ethical practices in the work place. In addition, the program emphasizes the development of strategic partnerships with industry, professional societies, civic organizations and other educational institutions to enhance student learning opportunities with real world applications, and facilitate personal growth and leadership skills.
III- Educational Goals/Objectives
The Construction Management program's mission is the foundation on which the program's educational objectives are built, and as such these objectives/ goals are:
- Develop understanding of science, technology, engineering, and management principles, based on analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Prepare students to be successfully employed or employable in construction management practice, or related fields and/or be continuing their education in graduate school.
- Prepare students to maintain an active presence in the professional community through partnerships with the construction industry, government agencies and professional organizations.
- Foster appreciation for ethical practices, and develop awareness of societal, local, national and global needs in order to prepare students to be responsible citizens.
