The Western Kentucky University family celebrates the life and contributions of Provost Emeritus, Dr. Barbara G. Burch.
Through her many roles, including vice president of Academic Affairs, provost, faculty member, regent, Philanthropist of the Year, chair of the WKU Sisterhood, and founder of the Kelly M. Burch Institute for Transformative Practices in Higher Education, Dr. Burch demonstrated unwavering commitment to the faculty, staff, students, and future of WKU.
Provost Emeritus Burch’s leadership extended beyond the hill of WKU. Through her involvement in many national organizations, including service as president of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and leadership in the creation of the American Democracy Project, Dr. Burch’s work will benefit the broader higher education community for generations to come.
