Summer 2012 Faculty Workload Guidelines
Max Credit Hours Taught Minimum # Weeks
1 - 4 hours 3 Weeks
5 - 8 hours 4 Weeks
9 - 11 hours 8 Weeks
12 hours* 13 Weeks
*Faculty can teach up to 12 hours during Summer Term (depending on total time and effort). For example, grant work is considered time and effort therefore the faculty would not be allowed to teach the full 12 hours.
Faculty Stipend Data

Full time faculty stipend rate for summer 2012 is $1,500 per credit hour; so a 3–credit course would produce a $4,500 stipend.

Part-time faculty rates for a 3 credit hour course in Summer 2012 are as follows:

  • Level I = $1,692
  • Level II = $1,840
  • Level III = $2,136
  • Level IV = $2,280
