Save the DATE for an Interdisciplinary Panel Discussion of the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks sponsored by the CHHS IPEC Team.

Several Events will be happening at lobby day including voter registration during the 10:30am Day of Empathy Rally in the Rotunda and the 1:00 pm Social Work Rally in the Rotunda at the KY Capital in Frankfort, KY.  Make an appointment to talk to your legislators about social work issues while you are there!  In a related event, there will be a 60th anniversary of the freedom march on Frandfort to retrace the steps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when he came to advocate for the Kentucky Civil Rights Act of 1966. That program takes place at the Capital City Museum at 9:00 am and ends on the steps of the Capital.

  • Time: 3:30pm - 5:30pm

This event will showcase WKU alumni who have had a substantial career in a social science field such as Social Work, Public Health, Criminology, Sociology, and Psychology. These outstanding alumni will share their career paths and then spend time networking in small groups with current WKU students interested in this topic. Please mark your calendars to attend this career exploration activity!
