WKU Sisterhood Spotlight: Becky Smith ('01)

Becky Smith ('01)

Hometown: Liberty, Mo. (Kansas City area)

Current City: Trenton, Fa. (Gainesville area)

When did you attend WKU? 1998 - 2001

What activities were you involved in as a student or are you now involved in as an alumna? Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity as a student. Now, I'm part of the Alumni Association and have endowed a scholarship in honor of my husband who passed away in February 2022. Until we moved to Florida, we had season basketball tickets and loved to watch the Hilltoppers play!

Do you have a favorite memory from college? So many memories... I wouldn't trade my time at WKU for anything! I made lifelong friends at WKU – plus I met my husband!

Is there a Sisterhood moment that stands out to you or made an impact? Not yet. I’m hoping to get more involved when I move back to the area this summer.

If you work, what do you do? I'm a financial analyst, but I have taken the last year to travel and homeschool my sons.

Tell us about your family/connection to other Sisterhood members: Christy Fuller and I were suitemates and have become lifelong friends. Robin Boggs and I were roommates as well. We loved living in Schneider!

Do you have any passion projects other than the WKU Sisterhood? Currently, my sons and traveling are most important.  I want to show them the world!

Fun fact about yourself: This year my sons and I have visited 27 states including 11 national parks and four countries – and there's more to come!
