Bio
Dr. Morris graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1989, a Baccalaureate in Nursing in 1994 and a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration from the University of Evansville in 1997. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky in 2009.
Her teaching experience started as the Critical Care Educator at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Kentucky. After several years, she began teaching at Owensboro Community and Technical College in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Recently, she has taught in the Baccalaureate Program with the University of Louisville. Dr. Morris continues to work as a staff nurse in the Cath Lab Pre and Recovery Unit at Owensboro Medical Health System. She is currently teaching the RN-BSN Program: Nursing Informatics, Nursing Leadership & Management, and Concepts of Professional Nursing.
Her research interests while achieving her Master’s Degree was transformational vs. transactional leadership. Her doctoral work was in Autism Spectrum Disorders and she developed NOVA: Need of Verbal Alternative, a communication system for school nurses to work with non-verbal children.
