Bio
Dr. Cornell is a Clinical Instructor Rank 1 and Certified Nurse Educator at the School of Nursing of Western Kentucky University. She received her ADN, BSN and MSN from Western Kentucky University and completed a doctoral degree from the University of Louisville.
Dr. Cornell is the course and clinical coordinator for the senior medical-surgical class in the prelicensure baccalaureate program and also clinical faculty in the senior practicum course. Her nursing practice background is in emergency and medical-surgical nursing. She serves as a Faculty Advisor for the WKU chapter of the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students (KANS), and as a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International and as a sustaining member of the National Student Nurses Association. Her research interests include issues related to nursing clinical education and organizational leadership.
