Email Accounts
WKU users are issued an email account in various ways depending on type of user.
Employee Email
Employees are automatically issued MS Exchange email accounts upon entry to the Banner
Human Resources System after being hired. Access to Exchange is supported using the Outlook client or via the web at: http://webmail.wku.edu. Email addresses for employees are in the format of firstname.lastname@wku.edu.

Student Email
Students are issued a TopperMail email account within 24-48 hours after their initial course registration. Students do not get an email account upon admission to the University, they must register for classes first. Students should access email using their TopperMail email address (aka Windows Live ID) at http://webmail.wku.edu.
Alumni Email
Alumni email accounts are available to qualifying Alumni. Apply for or manage your Alumni account by visiting our Alumni Email for Life page. Newly graduated students keep their TopperMail email for life automatically as long as they access it at least once every three months. Alumni should access email using their TopperMail email address (aka Windows Live ID) at http://webmail.wku.edu.
Shared (Generic) Exchange Email

Retiree Email
Retiree email accounts will remain active and available for use by the retiree upon retirement. Retirees must access the account every 6 months to keep it active. This applies only to employees officially classified as "Retirees" by Human Resources. If you have questions about whether you are officially classified as a "Retiree", please contact Human Resources @ (270) 745-5360. Email addresses for retirees are in the format of firstname.lastname@wku.edu. Retirees should login to email using their NetID and password at http://webmail.wku.edu. Affiliate Email
Affiliates are issued email accounts via a special process. Please call the IT Helpdesk @ (270) 745-7000.
