Email Addresses

WKU users are issued an email account in various ways depending on type of user.

Exchange

---

Employee Email

Employee email creation is either automated or upon request depending upon employment classification. Please review our knowledge article for the latest information. Access to Exchange Online is supported using the Outlook client or via the web.

Email addresses for employees are in the format of firstname.lastname@wku.edu. Employees should access email with their employee email address and Multi-Factor Authentication. 

 

Retiree Email

Retiree email accounts will remain active and available for use by the retiree upon retirement.  Retirees must access the account every 6 months to keep it active.  This applies only to employees officially classified as "Retirees" by Human Resources.  If you have questions about whether you are officially classified as a "Retiree", please contact Human Resources @ (270) 745-5360. 

Email addresses for retirees are in the format of firstname.lastname@wku.edu. Retirees should login to webmail using their email and Multi-Factor Authentication. 

 

 

TopperMail

Student Email

WKU provides students and affiliates with TopperMail, a Microsoft 365–powered email service. TopperMail offers Outlook email, an integrated calendar, OneDrive cloud storage, and mobile access through the Microsoft 365 apps.

• Outlook Email & Calendar — Integrated email and scheduling
• OneDrive — Cloud storage for files and collaboration
• Mobile Access — Use Outlook and Microsoft 365 apps on smartphones and tablets

TopperMail accounts are created within 24 hours of a student’s admission to the university.

TopperMail email addresses are in the format of firstname.lastname###@topper.wku.edu. Students should access email with their TopperMail email address using Webmail and Multi-Factor Authentication.

 

Alumni Email

TopperMail accounts are automatically converted to alumni accounts after graduation. Existing users keep their TopperMail automatically as long as they access it at least once every six months.

Alumni should access email with their TopperMail email address using Webmail and Multi-Factor Authentication.
