Biography

Ms. Ena Demir is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina and immigrated to the United States in 1998. Early on, she developed a passion for education and equity. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University in 2009, graduating with a double major in Political Science and Economics, with summa cum laude distinction. During her time at Western Kentucky University, Ms. Demir was a member of the Honors College, Spirit Masters, Pre-Law Club, and the Economics Club. She was also named Outstanding Junior and Senior in Political Science during her time at WKU. After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 2009, Ms. Demir attended the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor (JD). Upon law school graduation, Ms. Demir completed a two-year federal judicial clerkship with the United Stated District Court for the Western District of Kentucky in Bowling Green. Following the conclusion of the judicial clerkship, Ms. Demir began her career as an attorney focusing on litigation, employment law, and higher education law. During her career as an attorney, she was named 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Education Law, a recognition through Best Lawyers, an international peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession.

Aside from her legal experience, Ms. Demir has also been an active member of the Bowling Green community. She previously served as Chair of the Board for the Family Enrichment Center and Director of the Board for the Bowling Green-Warren County Bar Association. Ms. Demir also values leadership and is a graduate of the Kentucky Bar Association Leadership Conference and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

In July 2022, Ms. Demir started working at Western Kentucky University as the Executive Director and Title IX Coordinator in the office of Institutional Equity. Ms. Demir is a member of the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) and has earned certifications as a Title IX Coordinator and Investigator. She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
