I grew up in a town outside of Nashville called Gallatin. It's the only real home I know.
I graduated from MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with my undergraduate majoring in history, minored in English.
I've been everything from a pizza delivery guy to a restaurant worker to a retail environment to several other things. I decided I had enough of all that and it was time to go to school.
I find that it fits in well with my undergraduate program. There's a lot of history in folklore. There's definitely a lot of literature in folklore. For me, the literature side of things is what has interested me the most in the past few years. I wanted to explore why we tell the stories we tell.
I've been involved in martial arts for over 20 years now and am very active in a school in my hometown of Gallatin. It's a traditional form of karate, based out of Tokyo, Japan. It's called Wado-Ryu karate.
