Kentucky Folklife Program - Horse Cave Heritage Festival

 HCHF 2013

Horse Cave Heritage Festival

Since 2011, the Kentucky Folklife Program has worked with Dr. Tim Evan's Public Folklore graduate class to facilitate the narrative stage "Chattin' on the Porch" at the annual Horse Cave Heritage Festival.  The narrative stages enhance the Horse Cave Heritage Festival through the exploration of local traditions and cultural heritage.

The collaboration with the Public Folklore class creates an opportunity for Folk Studies graduate students to get hands-on experience in a festival setting and allows the KFP to present a greater number of local tradition bearers back to their community.
