Bio

Jim came to us after 11 years of serving as editor of the News-Democrat & Leader in Russellville, Kentucky. Jim served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky High School Speech League (KHSSL). Jim has a long history in both speech education and journalism. After graduating from Lipscomb University, he taught speech, drama, journalism and English at Russellville High School. His speech teams won four KHSSL regional championships. He coached 10 state champions, 20 national qualifiers, and a national finalist who finished third in Seattle. Jim, who holds a masters degree in speech education and a Rank I in counseling from Western, taught six to seven speech classes a year at WKU from 1990-95.
