WKU CCR&R Mission Statement

The Western Kentucky University Child Care Resource and Referral is a community based organization that is dedicated to increasing the quality and accessibility of early care and education services for children. We work with families, early care and education programs, businesses and industry, and the community.

  • help you find child care that meets your needs
  • provide information about resources to pay for child care
  • give you information to help you as you make decisions about child care
  • connect you with advocacy activities answer your questions about young children





girl For early childhood professionals we:
  • provide monthly workshops
  • have a resource library of books, videos, and toys
  • provide consultation on quality initiatives, such as accreditation
  • publish a monthly newsletter 
  • answer your questions about working with young children



girl For business and industry we:
  • conduct a needs assessment of your employees
  • provide training on parenting and child care issues for your employees
  • provide articles about parenting and child care to include in your company newsletter or bulletin boards
  • provide enhanced referrals to help your employees find dependable and high quality child care
  • assist you with setting up a company child care program or building partnerships with existing child care programs

  • gather information about child care needs and resources.
  • collaborate with other agencies by serving on committees and boards, including announcements in our newsletter or web page, connecting parents and professionals to the right agency for services, and co-sponsoring events
  • provide information about how to start a child care business
  • submit early care and education related articles to newspapers and newsletters create early care and education related public service announcements
