Assistant Professor (Pedagogical)
The Department of Biology at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track appointment as Pedagogical Assistant Professor in Human Anatomy and Physiology. A doctoral degree in Biology, medicine, or a related field and teaching experience in the area of human anatomy or physiology after the completion of the doctorate are required. Teaching responsibilities will include human anatomy and physiology lectures and labs at multiple levels. The successful candidate will also direct laboratory instruction and supervise student teaching assistants. Additional qualifications include ability to teach and mentor students at all levels, particularly those in pre-professional programs. We expect excellence in teaching, commitment to advanced teaching methods in human anatomy and physiology, and pursuit of extramural funding in support of instruction as needed. A willingness to participate in departmental and university service is also expected. Pedagogical faculty are not required to conduct research (seehttp://www.wku.edu/policies/aa_policies/pedagogical_track_1_1990for expectations of pedagogical faculty).
