    Inaugural WKU Day of Giving creates connections for entire WKU Family
    The inaugural WKU Day of Giving was held on April 23, 2024, as a way to bring together all members of the WKU Family to share the WKU Spirit and support the University—showing both current and future Hilltoppers that they have an entire community here for them. In total, $378,796 was brought in for WKU Day of Giving.



    Donor Spotlight: Martha Burn ('62, '69, '79)
    Martha Burn (’62, ’69, ’79) of Elizabethtown, Ky., is a three-time alumna and a longtime donor—she’s been giving back to WKU for 30 consecutive years! In honor of WKU Day of Giving, Martha made a gift of $12,708 to enhance the Martha Burn Scholarship, a fund she established to support a student who graduated from high schools in Hardin County, Elizabethtown or Fort Knox and who is majoring in Elementary Education.



    Jerry E. Baker Foundation and College Heights Foundation hold event
    The Jerry E. Baker Foundation and the College Heights Foundation recently recognized the newest group of Baker Scholars – the 237 WKU students who received the Jerry E. Baker Student Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. The event was held April 11 at the Downing Museum at the Baker Arboretum.



    Honoring the legacy of Professor Kay Meggers
    In December 2022, Dr. Kay Meggers, a Professor in the Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University, died in a tragic accident on his family farm in northern Germany. As the news of his passing was shared, there was an overwhelming wave of sadness mixed with profound gratitude for his remarkable contributions. Dr. Meggers left an indelible mark on people’s hearts and minds.



    Cumberland Trace Incentive-Matt Rzepka Memorial Scholarship announces 2023 recipients
    Eight new recipients for the Cumberland Trace Incentive-Matt Rzepka Memorial Scholarship Fund were announced on Dec. 15, 2023, during the morning assembly at the school. This marks the 19th year these scholarships have been awarded to fifth- and sixth-grade students attending Cumberland Trace Elementary in Bowling Green, Ky.



    WKU Sisterhood awards 2023 grants with record amount
    The WKU Sisterhood gathered for its annual fall meeting on Nov. 10 and celebrated a milestone 106 members and a record amount in available funding to award as grants. In total, the group awarded $106,511 in grants to fund six University initiatives for 2023.
