Optometry School Facts and Figures
There are presently 23 Schools and Colleges of Optometry in the United States and Puerto Rico. For the 2017 entering class, there were 2687 applicants (13,339 applications) for an average of 4.96 applications per applicant. The average overall GPA for accepted applicants was 3.33. The most selected major on the OptomCAS application was Biology. 67% of accepted applicants were female while 33% were male.
