Dr. Merrall Llewelyn Price is Professor of English, Special Assistant to the Provost, and Student Ombuds Officer.
On behalf of the Office of the Provost, Dr. Price serves as liaison for the curriculur process which includes collaboration with the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Colonnade Curriculum Committee, and the Graduate Council as well as the Faculty Welfare and Professional Responsibilities Committee. She also oversees the honorary doctorate process, faculty recognition procedures, faculty grievance procedures, student academic complaint process, and collaborates with the Division of Enrollment and Student Engagement concerning articulation and transfer.
Dr. Price also serves as liaison for academic policies and curriculum to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
She has previously taught at Oklahoma State University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She received a PhD. in English from the University of Rochester with a focus on medieval English literature and culture.
Dr. Price's research focuses primarily on the fourteenth century, with an emphasis on cultural concerns during religious upheavals. Her monograph Consuming Passions was published by Routledge, and her coedited volumes Domestic Violence in Medieval Texts by the University Press of Florida, and Jews in Medieval Christendom by Brill respectively. Her most recent publication is in on medieval anti-judaism for Oxford Bibliographies. Dr. Price is PI on a $50,000 grant from Kentucky CPE targeting co-requisite education for underprepared students, her third grant in this area.
