Summer Sessions Advisor Toolkit

Summer Sessions Banner

  • March 19 and after – Graduate students
  • March 20 and after – Seniors and Post-Baccalaureate Students (90 or more hours)
  • March 21 and after – Juniors (60 – 89 earned hours)
  • March 22 and after – Sophomores (30 – 59 earned hours)
  • March 23 and after – Freshmen (0 – 29 earned hours)

* July Sessions have no six- to eight-week courses. Students receiving financial aid must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours in any combination of sessions from May 15 to August 10.

Undergraduate students with a 2.5 GPA or higher are eligible for a summer scholarship!  Enroll in at least 6 hours, complete the online scholarship application, and you could save:

  • $425 for students with 3.0 GPA or higher
  • $250 for students with 2.5 - 2.99 GPA

Application will open March 19. Deadline to apply is April 27, 2018.

* Distance Learning is for all WEB courses. The other categories are for face-to-face courses.

Tuition and/or fees are subject to change by the Kentucky Council on Post-Secondary Education or WKU. Summer Sessions courses are assessed per credit hour based upon the course (i.e. on-campus or distance learning).

Summer PELL is back!

Pell grant eligible student can receive up to 150% of their award within the academic year! This means additional funding for summer for the first time in a long time!

Students must register for at least 6 credit hours in summer to utilize any eligible financial aid.
