2020 is the fiftieth anniversary of the WKU Student Research Conference. Extraordinary worldwide events have led to this year's conference's transformation to a virtual event. Information for presenters, faculty mentors, judges, and any others interested in this unique iteration of the conference will be presented below.

  • All accepted abstracts are considered to be presenters at the conference

    • Can be included on curricula vitae as a conference presentation

    • Abstracts will be uploaded to WKU TopSCHOLAR

  • Presentations must be submitted as a recorded video (maximum length of 10 minutes)

    • Presentation submission information is below

    • Presentation submission deadline is May 2, 2020 (11:59 PM CDT)

    • Judging decisions will be announced in mid/late May 2020

Presentation Submission Information

  • General Information

    • The deadline to submit presentations is May 2, 2020 (11:59 PM CDT)

    • Presentations are limited to a maximum of 10 minutes

  • How To Submit Presentations

    • Presenters will upload presentations to YouTube (free Google account required)

    • After upload, presenters will email student.research@wku.edu with the following information:

      • Name(s) of presenter(s)

      • Abstract title

      • URL of presentation

      • Include "SRC presentation" in the subject line

  • Presentation Ideas

    • You are the expert on your research - present your work confidently

    • Present as if the audience is unfamiliar with your research topic

    • If there are multiple presenters, one solution is to connect with other presenters through a video conferencing platform, record the presentation, then upload the video

    • Visual elements (such as PowerPoint slides) can be included

    • Make sure to introduce all presenter(s)

    • Make sure your presentation does not exceed 10 minutes (and shorter is better)

    • Anticipate and address some questions you think a live audience would have

    • If you have any questions, email student.research@wku.edu
