3 Pathways

The Exceptional Education program area offers courses and experiences for the advanced preparation of teachers holding Learning and Behavioral Disorders certification or another certifiable area. The Program Requirements comprise from 31 - 43 hours. Three distinct pathways are defined depending on prior certification type of the applicants.

Pathway 1: For those holding prior LBD Certification Pathway 2: For those holding prior MSD Certification Pathway 3: For those holding prior certification in an area other than LBD or MSD
Teacher Leader Professional Education Core courses (TCHL): *10 hours to 16 hours Teacher Leader Professional Education Core courses (TCHL): *10 hours to 16 hours Teacher Leader Professional Education Core courses (TCHL): *10 hours to 16 hours
* Students have the option to submit proficiency evaluations for 2 TCHL 3 credit courses, which, if passed, will reduce the TCHL Professional Education Core section to fewer credit hours: 10 to 16 possible
