Maria Siewers, Student Ambassador

Maria Siewers

Hi there! My name is Maria, and I am a Bowling Green local majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders & Sociology with a concentration in Family, Gender, and Sexuality. As I embark on my fourth and fifth years at WKU, I will be adding a Gender and Women’s Studies Minor and a Deaf Studies Certificate. Along with the Soc and Crim student ambassador program, I serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee for a Greek organization, serve as an HonorsTopper, and work at the WKU Graduate School. I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Spring 2020, where I was enrolled in a course that instigated the switch to this degree, and I intend to head back to study in Europe in 2022 to satiate my love for travel. I also enjoy cooking, thrifting, and spending beautiful days out on South Lawn.

Sociology is a deep passion of mine, and although my career path will be seemingly unrelated in Speech Language Pathology, I intend to intersect my sociological knowledge with everything that I do and all demographics I work with. I am overjoyed to connect with current or potential Sociology and Criminology buddies, and I hope you reach out with any questions about life at WKU!
