Ashlee Gilbert, Peer Mentor 2020-2021
The most impactful part about my involvement in the Sociology and Criminology Department has been being a peer mentor and getting to establish relationships with the professors and students. In addition to my studies, I am a member of the WKU Mock Trial Team, and I attend Christian Student Fellowship.
During the Spring semester 2020, I was able to intern at the Logan County Attorney’s Office. Following graduation, I plan to attend law school, and I hope to one day work as a criminal attorney.
In the upcoming year, I hope the peer mentors can plan activities to help our students make connections with their prospective fields. I also hope to continue to foster relationships within the students and faculty.
