Chanell Ellis, Peer Mentor 2020-2021
The Sociology and Criminology department has given me reassurance that my major is the one for me. The programs that they have held have helped me see what I might want to do in the future.
My freshman year on the hill I was a part of the intramural volleyball team, Mahurin Honors College and was the floor speaker for my dorm. In years to come I hope that I will be blessed with the opportunity to study abroad and do some internships to help further my experience. After graduation I hope to be in a position that will have me set for any job opportunities. I hope that I will have good luck with the internships that I pursue and a door will be opened for me so I can become a criminal psychologist.
Becoming a peer mentor is exciting for me. I hope that incoming freshman will feel welcomed and love Western and our department as much as I do. I desire that the group will be able to throw many fun and educational programs that not only help the freshman but all students in the department, and I believe that this is possible and will happen!
