Alyssa Thomas, Outstanding Criminology Minor

Alyssa Thomas Bio image

I chose to minor in criminology because I wanted to learn more about how the system worked in a more theory and research-based way. While taking the classes necessary to fulfill my minor, I have learned many things that have sparked a passion in me and made me think differently about how the systems work and how they need improving. While at WKU, I have participated in the Anthropology Club for four semesters and became the secretary for the club in fall 2020. I have also had the opportunity this spring 2021 semester to work in the Anthropology Department’s osteology lab. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school focusing on cultural and applied anthropology, where I will pursue a career where I can contribute to projects that better communities.
