Dr. Song receives RCAP grant to boost research for child welfare

Today it was announced that Dr. Qingfang Song has been selected to receive an RCAP grant through the WKU Office of Research and Creative Activity. The RCAP program, led by WKU Associate Provost for Research and Graduate Education, Dr. Ranjit Koodali, provides critical funding for early stage researchers to initiate their research agendas. Also, Dr. Song has joined one of the WKU College of Health and Human Services, Applied Research Centers.
The WKU LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research selected Dr. Song as a Scholar. Dr. Song is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences at WKU and has a productive history of research focused on ethnic minority children’s socio-emotional development and psychological well-being.
Dr. Austin Griffiths, the Center director, stated that, “we are excited to welcome Dr. Song to the team and look forward to working together to improve the lives of families and children.” The RCAP funding will allow Dr. Song to continue vital research to advance child welfare.
