As college students, we’re focused on classwork, friends, clubs, and other matters. But unfortunately the reality of gun violence is something we all have to confront. We have seen how gun violence affects our safety in schools, churches, stores, and yes, on college campuses. And while the root causes can be debated, there is no doubt that there are more steps we can take to protect ourselves, wherever we are.
In 2016, the Faculty Welfare Committee for WKU University Senate, the WKU Police Department, and the WKU Department of Environmental Health and Safety created a plan to inform students, faculty, and staff about how to respond to an active shooter scenario on WKU campuses. This short and informative video offers helpful information that could be life-saving during an emergency.
