Are you interested in a HEALTH CAREER?

 SC KY AHEC is dedicated to promoting health careers to Kentucky students. We strongly believe that anyone interested in the health field should have the opportunity to pursue that interest. Check out our programs below!

Middle and High School Student Programming:

We offer a variety of programs that promote health careers to middle and high school students.

  • Super Saturdays -- A Saturday program for gifted students to further explore an area of interest. 
  • Summer Reading Programs -- Through partnerships with local public libraries, AHEC has created summer library programs that promote health careers. 
  • Future Healthcare Professionals-- FHP introduces high school students to health careers through hands-on activities, field trips, and guest speakers. FHP is offered in several counties throughout the year. 
  • Health Career Explorers at Hardin Memorial -- Health Career Explorers is offered in partnership with Hardin Memorial Health and AHEC. Selected high school students visit different departments of Hardin Memorial Health throughout the course of the academic year. 
  • Overnight Summer Camps -- The three medical schools in Kentucky offer summer camps for high school and college students. Learn more about the programs and application requirements.
