Dr. Todd R. Cheever, M.D., associate dean of the new medical school, will be the featured guest during “An Evening With” on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Dr. Cheever has done extensive studies on the effects of opioid addiction and will share valuable insight into the increase in addiction and how to treat it. He is a faculty member of the UK Department of Psychiatry whose clinical work has focused on treating adults with chronic mental illnesses and substance use disorders. 

“An Evening With” is an intimate discussion with thought-leaders and experts from various fields through a moderator-led interview led by WKU alumnus and local author Larry Gildersleeve. Attendees also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the discussion.

The event will take place at WKU’s Augenstein Alumni Center, 292 Alumni Ave. Desserts and coffee will be served at 6:30 p.m. The discussion will begin at 7 p.m. Free parking will be available in the Alumni Square Garage.

This “An Evening With” program is co-hosted by the WKU Alumni Association and the Society for Lifelong Learning at WKU (SLL), a member-driven organization that offers a wide range of high quality, intellectually stimulating, non-credit educational programs and experiences for ages 50 and over who have a love for learning.

The event is free to the public, but reservations are required.
