Many college students must balance classes with family and work responsibilities. That’s why WKU offers flexible course options that help students fit classes into their schedules.
“We are committed to helping students reach their educational goals without sacrificing their personal and professional responsibilities,” said Jenny London, WKU academic support specialist.
London said that many students, especially adult learners, need flexible options that allow them to take classes outside the typical weekday classes.
“We work with faculty and departments to develop course options that allow students to take classes they otherwise might not have time for,” said London.
These include online options, evening classes and even courses that meet on Friday evenings and Saturdays for three weekends, which mean students can complete an entire course with six class meetings.
London said that IVS courses offer another convenient option for students, allowing them to take a class taught on another WKU campus from the convenience of their home campus. IVS classes offer real-time instruction in classrooms equipped with high-quality video conferencing technology. Students can actively participate in classroom discussions and engage with their professor and other students. IVS classrooms are available at all WKU campuses.
Some of the weekend courses offered this fall include PSY432, PSY440, SOCL359 and SOCL435. IVS options include FACS495, HIST305, HIST335, MGT305, MGT416 and MGT417. Other weekend, IVS and online courses are also available.
