Tina Senesi considered several schools before deciding which major and college that were right for her. She’s a busy wife, mother, and grandmother who has four children ranging from age 10-24 and 3-year-old granddaughter, so going back to school wasn’t a simple decision.
Then a meeting with an advisor at WKU in Elizabethtown made her decision easy.
“I met with Mrs. Ledford at WKU in Elizabethtown to discuss their social work program, and I knew this is where I wanted to go,” said Tina. “I felt welcomed into the program just by discussing the possibility. Mrs. Ledford let me know that I could accomplish everything I wanted through WKU. I have never regretted my decision.”
Today, Tina is pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree and will graduate this spring. She said that her social work courses have prepared her for her career in social work, and she is especially excited about two courses this semester: Field Seminar and Juvenile Offenders.
“Field Seminar is a great class to discuss field experiences and issues we may see within the field,” Tina said. “The Juvenile Offenders course focuses more on the clients that fit into my long-term plans and goals.”
Following graduation, Tina plans to pursue her Master of Social Work and then become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She eventually wants to work with juvenile offenders and their families.
