Internships
What is the Purpose of an Internship?
Internships provide students with the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to a work setting. Students who complete internships gain work experience in their areas of interests and are stronger candidates for jobs after graduation. Internships promote valuable career skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, oral and written communication, and networking.
Academic Credit
Students may choose to pursue academic credit for their internship. In addition to the work requirements of their internships, students receiving academic credit for an internship will complete writing and reading assignments related to their internship. To learn more about receiving academic credit for your internship, contact scott.lasley@wku.edu with further questions.
