The Special Operations Investigator has authority to determine the extent and nature
of the services needed at the event or crime scene. This includes what technical procedures
to follow and what specialized equipment, lighting, auxiliary power, etc. to use.
Each event and crime scene is different and my require a different approach. However, there is a basic crime scene protocol that should be adhered. This basic outline should be used in all crime scenes. Whether the crime scene is a recovered stolen vehicle or a multiple homicide where several crime scenes are involved, the basic process is the same.
