LDP Form Advanced Options

Within LDP Forms we have built in some advanced options you can use to insert some pre-formatted elements and styles. Below is how you use the options when building your form and what styles are associated with those tags. Please reference the LDP Forms Elements page if you are unsure what element you should select.

Example Form

Attributes & Descriptions

legend=true;

In a single-line text field, the text entered into the Default field appears as traditional content rather than a form field. This can be used, for example, to provide an additional instruction or an example to the form submitter. Also, see the Instructional Text element. Supported elements: Single-Line Text.

addclass=myclass;

Wraps the form element group in a <span> with the CSS class specified. The class can be anything that has been defined in CSS. Supported elements: Single-Line Text, Multi-Line Text, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Drop-Down, Multi-Select, Date/Time Picker, Instructional Text.

fieldset_start=true;

Defines the opening tag for a <fieldset> within the form. This is used in conjunction with the fieldset_end option to set off a group of elements. It can also be used with the fieldset_label option to define a label for the group. Supported elements: Single-Line Text, Multi-Line Text, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Drop-Down, Multi-Select, Date/Time Picker, Instructional Text.

fieldset_end=true;

Defines the closing tag for a <fieldset> and is used in conjunction with the fieldset_start and fieldset_label options. Supported elements: Single-Line Text, Multi-Line Text, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Drop-Down, Multi-Select, Date/Time Picker, Instructional Text.

fieldset_label=About;

Defines the label of the fieldset. For example, if the group should be labeled “About” then that can be defined here. It can be entered without quotes and can include spaces. Supported elements: Single-Line Text, Multi-Line Text, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Drop-Down, Multi-Select, Date/Time Picker, Instructional Text.

dataset=state;

Adds a predefined dataset to an element. This is useful for data that are frequently used, but tedious to type. For example, the “state” dataset includes all 50 United States so that they may be used in an element. Preconfigured datasets include: state, state_ab, country, year, month, numbers, alphabet. Supported elements: Drop-Down.

alert=true;

Adds the CSS class "red" to the element, causing text to become red. Supported elements: Instructional Text.
