Warm Water Wednesdays

 

Shake off your cold-weather blues and dive into a new kind of fun! Join us Wednesday evenings for some skill instruction on various water-based activities in our pool. Bring your a swim suit and a towel, we will provide the gear and instruction! Meet at the ORAC office at 5:00pm so we can pull the gear we will need for our evening's clinic.

Intro to Bike Maintenance

Learn the basics of how to take care of your bike to keep it running longer, whether you ride roads or trails.  We will go over basic repairs like changing a tube for a flat tire, and answer any questions you may have.  Feel free to bring your own bike and do some hands-on learning!

Bowling Green has a mountain biking trail! Join us Monday evenings for some great trail action. Bring your own bike or rent one of ours for $5. You choose. Meet at the ORAC office at 4:45pm for load-up and we’ll head over to Weldon Peete Park at 5:00pm.

Lifeguarding Certification (American Red Cross)

Line up your summer job in the sun by earning your Lifeguard Certification!

This 3 day course provides the knowledge and skills to effectively prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies.  Participants can expect hands-on learning with skills practice in the pool, spanning topics from basic first aid to how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a 2 year certification in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Professional Rescuer.

Prerequisites:   Able to swim 300 yds continuously, tread water legs-only for 2 mins, retrieve 10lb object from 10ft depth surface dive
