Wonderguy character

Wonderguy

Wonderguy is the supposed “lead” character of each of the stories, which will be centered around his adventures in crime-fighting. Wonderguy is incredibly strong, but his brains do not match his brawn, a fact that is not part of his public perception. He is an immensely popular public figure, even perhaps a bit of a celebrity. His origins are left purposefully vague, although it is clear from the way that he carries himself that he has always had his super-powers.

Principal Willoughby

Principal Willoughby

Principal Willoughby. Miss Willoughby (she currently has no first name) is the principal at Best Elementary School, where Claire and Dillon are students. She acts as an enabler in the story line. She first introduces Claire and Dillon to Wonderguy when he needs mathematical assistance, and will provide them excused time out of class to help Wonderguy when he needs it. She has some connection to Wonderguy that is not immediately clear, but hints of how they know each other appear in the different episodes.

Claire and Dillon

Claire and Dillon

The real heroes of each story are the students, Claire and Dillon. Claire is an African- American student who is wise beyond her years, and not as star-struck with Wonderguy as Dillon is. Dillon looks studious and not too athletic. Both are on the school’s academic team, and Principal Willoughby considers them the “best math students in the school”. Claire and Dillon are befriended by Wonderguy in the first issue and continue to enlist their help in the following issues via wrist communicators.

Aerial

Aerial

Aerial is a former trapeze artist whose act consisted of her deploying her own portable “trapeze” while free-falling from the trapeze platform. She decides that she can make more money by stealing it and using her high-flying skills to get away. After all, Wonderguy may be strong, but he can’t fly, right?

Captain Confusion

Captain Confusion

Captain Confusion is a very intelligent inventor, who is seeking revenge for an embarrassing slight at an academic team competition from his childhood. He invented a “stasis bubble” system and “confusion gas”. He is extremely condescending and personally resents the attention heaped upon Wonderguy.

Cheetah

Cheetah

The Cheetah is a geneticist, seeking funding from the leadership of a government research facility to create super-fast soldiers, when they refuse, he has to experiment on himself. He has the speed of a cheetah, but must rest between bursts. He is not a real “bad” guy – he is trying to show he is better than Wonderguy to get the attention of the government scientists.

Miss Garmon

Miss Garmon

Miss Garmon, Wonderguy's personal secretary, but as we later learn, she is also the sister of Captain Confusion (villain from Issue #1). She will play a pivotal role in the storyline in Operation Comics Issue #6.

Shape Master

Shape Master

The Shape Master was a lazy janitor at the government research facility in town who got fired from his job.  While leaving the building, he attempts to sabotage some equipment, and gets “zapped”, changing his molecular structure. He can now assume different shapes, mostly geometric in nature, but they are always blue and always have the same volume.
