Favorite Aspect of WKU:
Having grown up in Bowling Green and Bardstown, I am especially pleased to see that WKU has taken such a strong international focus in helping students prepare for international careers, as well as to live in a world that is increasingly globalized and diverse. The commitment of WKU’s leadership and faculty to preparing students to live in a highly international, 21st century world is exemplary and students will find that WKU is a place to explore and grow in ways they never imagined!
Why WKU’s International Reach Matters:
That world in which WKU’s students will live, and the job market they will encounter, are highly diverse and international. Even if students want to live and work all their lives in the U.S., they still must be culturally literate, and have good cross-cultural skills. Foreign languages and understanding of other cultures will always be a plus, in every locale and every occupation. This is why WKU’s International Reach matters – it is a vital component in the life of tomorrow’s good citizen, successful businessperson, government worker, political and social leader, and even parent as our world becomes “flatter” and more interconnected. The skills one gains from an education with International Reach are rapidly becoming a basic requirement of a solid and well-rounded citizen.
