Religious Observances and National Holidays
Around the World

Many WKU faculty, staff, and students observe the holy days of their respective religions. These events, as well as national holidays in countries throughout the world, can also impact travel abroad. The following resources may be of assistance in planning, accommodating, and celebrating these diverse cultural observances.

The Earth Calendar provides a comprehensive, searchable index of holidays by date, religion, and country.

Calendars of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville Chancellor’s Office and the University of Michigan Provost’s Office identify major religious and cultural holidays.

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at Wellesley College provides an annual calendar of holidays observed by a variety of world religions.

The Office of International Programs does not warrant the accuracy of these resources but believes them to be reliable.
